Overview of the Role We are seeking an experienced AI Solutions Architect to help shape and drive our AI strategy and product innovation. This role bridges the gap between ambitious business objectives and pragmatic technical implementation. You will work closely with product teams not only to architect AI-powered solutions but to ensure they are commercially viable, secure, and built for scale . The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of AI/ML with the practical experience of an enterprise architect who understands the importance of cost management, security posture, and operational excellence. Candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years of AI/ML experience to be considered for this Solutions Architect role. A minimum of 5-6 years of solutions architecture experience is required for this position. A Bachelor's degree is required for this role. Australian work rights are required for this position. Key Responsibilities Lead AI Product Strategy & Discovery: Lead workshops to identify high-impact opportunities for AI integration, translating business requirements into technical solutions that drive tangible value. Scalable Architecture Strategy: Develop a product and technology strategy fit for purpose, ensuring architectures are designed to meet the rigorous scalability demands of our platform (latency, throughput, and high availability). Security & Compliance: Architect solutions that strictly adhere to enterprise security requirements , designing safeguards against data leakage, prompt injection, and ensuring compliance with data privacy standards. Cost Management & Optimization: Design architectures with strict cost constraints in mind. Optimize token usage, model selection, and infrastructure to ensure the solution is commercially viable and maintains healthy margins. Financial Responsibility: Drive a financially responsible AI strategy that balances innovation with fiscal discipline, ensuring projects deliver key business outcomes while achieving specific financial targets (ROI and Total Cost of Ownership). Operational Excellence: Guide the operationalisation of AI solutions, ensuring they are maintainable, observable, and performant in a production environment. Technical Leadership: Collaborate with product teams to define AI feature roadmaps, creating detailed technical specifications and providing guidance on integration best practices. Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms, balancing "bleeding edge" capabilities with enterprise stability. Skills and Experience Required AI Product Implementation: Proven experience developing and implementing customer-facing AI/ML products, particularly those utilizing LLMs, in a production environment. LLM Experience: Candidates must have experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) for this AI Solutions Architect position. Enterprise Architecture: Extensive experience in solution architecture with a focus on non-functional requirements—specifically scalability, performance, and reliability in distributed systems. Financial & Cost Management (FinOps): Demonstrated ability to manage the economics of AI. Experience calculating unit economics, managing API/Token costs, and optimizing cloud infrastructure spend. Security First Mindset: Strong understanding of AI security risks and experience implementing secure data handling practices within regulated or enterprise environments. Strategic Execution: Strong track record of creating and executing enterprise-wide AI strategies that align technical output with business goals. Communication: Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts (and their associated costs/risks) to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership. Operational Scale: Strong understanding of MLOps, CI/CD for AI, and the requirements for running AI workloads at scale. Preferred Experience with publicly deployed LLM-based products. Experience at training LLMs. Background in product monetisation and revenue optimisation. Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their specific AI suites.
