Yardsperson - Traffic Management (Midland Depot) Yardperson - Traffic Management (Midland Depot) Are you a highly organised individual with excellent gear management skills and a knack for vehicle maintenance? We're looking for a proactive and safety-focused Yardperson at our Midland depot who can also take on the occasional responsibility of light vehicle (LV) tyre changing and maintenance . This is a critical dual-role position where you'll ensure our yard is running smoothly and that our fleet vehicles are road-ready with safe, well-maintained tyres. About the Role Based in our Midland depot, you will be the backbone of our traffic management operation. Your days will be split between managing our vast array of equipment and maintaining the tyres on our fleet of Light Vehicles (utes) . Key Responsibilities Include: Equipment Management: Assisting , loading, and unloading all traffic management gear (signs, cones, barriers, VMS boards) for daily work crews. Conducting accurate inventory checks (in and out) and reporting stock discrepancies. Cleaning, inspecting, and performing minor repairs on equipment to ensure it meets safety standards. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard at all times. LV Tyre Maintenance & Fitting: Routine inspection of all light vehicle tyres for wear, damage, and correct pressure. Changing, repairing, and balancing LV tyres in line with safety and compliance guidelines. Managing tyre stock and working with the State Operations Manager to order replacements. Assisting with general fleet pre-start checks and minor maintenance tasks as required. What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience in a yard/stores environment, preferably within the logistics, transport, or traffic sector. Demonstrated experience and competency in changing and repairing Light Vehicle (LV) tyres . Current and valid car and HR Driver's Licence (Manual) is a must. Current Forklift (LF) Licence and experience operating a forklift. (not essential) A strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles. Physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy equipment and work outdoors in all weather. Desirable: Basic mechanical aptitude beyond tyre fitting. Familiarity with traffic management equipment.
