Role Overview Labourer (Civil Delivery) – Permanent, Full‑Time (9‑day fortnight, 38 hours per week) at Townsville City Council. Salary: LGE 3 (AUD 58,814 per annum + superannuation). Responsibilities This position conducts general labouring duties in the civil construction and maintenance field across the Townsville City Council area, including signage and line marking. The role is based at the Dalrymple Road Depot. Qualifications Certificate II in Civil Construction or relevant experience. Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD). Sound oral, written, numeracy and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with others professionally. Effective time and workload management; ability to prioritise tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet objectives. Experience and a record of promoting a positive safety culture and compliance with Health and Safety Management Systems. Desirable (Optional) Current ‘MR’ Class Licence (preferred for maintenance work). Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) accreditation or willingness to obtain it. Knowledge of the Workplace Health & Safety Act and related industry standards. Ability to safely operate light plant, machinery and equipment used in maintenance and construction. Plant Operator Certificates of Competency for relevant plant types and classes. First Aid Certificate. Benefits Annual leave: 5 weeks; plus 17.5% loading. Personal/Carers leave: 3 weeks.
