Competitive Salary: 5A $83,038.80 per annum + 12% superannuation. Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham. About the Role Bayside City Council is looking for a Local Laws Officer to contribute to the safety and amenity of the municipality through the provision of information, assistance and advice to the community, and through the enforcement of relevant legislation. Responsibilities Undertaking inspections and audits Impounding animals Issuing infringements Preparing briefs of evidence To be Successful in this Role To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies: Certificate IV Statutory Compliance or Diploma of Justice or similar qualification will be considered Strong customer service focus, with well-developed verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities Self-motivator with well-developed conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Experience in enforcement or willing to learn related regulatory fields, to confidently educate and enforce Council's legislation responsibilities Mandatory pre-employment requirements Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check. Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check. Be willing to undertake a premedical assessment check (if applicable for the role).
