About the role

Reporting to the Station Manager, this role is responsible for undertaking various gardening duties including maintaining station gardens, along with general cleaning, tidiness and maintenance of the station's buildings, guest accommodation and communal facilities.

About the Property

Helen Springs Station, located in the Barkly Tablelands in the Northern Territory, spans an impressive 5,600km2 and serves as a breeding property for up 27,000 head of cattle. Lush green gardens and lawns surround the station complex, which includes a swimming pool and social club. In your down time you might like to visit the nearest town, Tennant Creek. Helen Springs prides itself on providing a workplace that encourages personal growth, in a friendly and supportive team-based environment. Throughout the year, mustering operations and general station work intertwines with social events across the NT.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Practical experience in gardening and/or horticulture activities including planting, pruning, trimming, weeding, fertilising, mulching, mowing and watering
  • Self-motivator and be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Good communication, organisational and time management skills
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Chemical User’s Accreditation (desirable)
  • Qualification in a relevant area such as horticulture or landscaping (desirable)
