ABOUT THE ROLE The Ramp Freight Officer is responsible for coordinating and facilitating incoming and outgoing freight in the airport environment. This includes the timely collection, delivery, and tracking of freight, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient freight operations for all stakeholders. YOUR DUTIES Receive, coordinate, and process freight for multiple airline and non‑airline stakeholders. Accurately track all inbound and outbound freight, updating relevant systems. Deliver residential and business freight within the local community, ensuring on‑time delivery. Coordinate Next Flight and Same Day freight movements and determine efficient routing. Meet aircraft on arrival to organise freight in accordance with flight schedules. Communicate freight transportation updates, including estimated time of arrival and delays. Complete and file billing documentation and maintain accurate freight inventories. Develop and maintain a filing system for company and freight documentation. Investigate and track lost freight as required. Act as the point of contact for internal and external freight stakeholders. Ensure all freight activities meet safety and compliance standards as per company and airline procedures. Operate ground service equipment safely and report any defects. Uphold high standards of grooming, deportment, and professionalism. Perform other reasonable duties as directed by management. Prior experience in freight handling or logistics in an airport or transport environment is desirable. Skills and Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn other software programs. Ability to interpret and complete documentation accurately. Knowledge of airport operations and freight handling procedures is advantageous. Strong customer service orientation and stakeholder engagement skills. Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Identification Card (ASIC). Ability to pass an Instant Drug and Alcohol Test. Current driver’s licence (manual preferred).
