About us SRJ Walker Wayland is a leading accounting firm, with a modern office at Birtinya and a larger office on the northside of Brisbane at Brendale. We provide a range of services including business advisory, audit, outsourced CFO and finance team support, plus a comprehensive range of advisory services. Our Sunshine Coast office has developed a reputation for advising some of the Sunshine Coast's most successful and growing businesses. The client service focus is more than just compliance. We pride ourselves as being true business advisors that help clients to achieve success and realize their ambitions. SRJ Walker Wayland has 75 people in the business, eight of which are located in the Birtinya office. The remainder work in Brendale in Brisbane's north, with a small contingent of contractors based offshore. What is a cadetship and who is eligible? A cadetship offers the opportunity for students to undertake a Commerce or Business degree while gaining valuable work experience with our firm. The SRJ Walker Wayland cadetship program is ideal for second year university students who have the legal right to work in Australia.The cadetship program is structured as a combination of part-time work and part-time study. Once settled into the program, cadets will work as permanent part-time employees – four days or thirty hours per week. For students currently enrolled at university full time, the expectation is that you will reduce your study load at the first reasonable opportunity so that you can better balance work and study. Attributes of successful applicants Have or be developing strong communication and interpersonal skills. Be honest, dedicated to work and study, organised and enthusiastic. Have a consistent academic record and work to maintain good academic standards. What support do we provide? Comprehensive induction and training program upon commencement. Peer assistance with training, mentoring and cadet support. Mentoring and support from Senior Accountants, Managers and Shareholders. In-house technical and soft skills training. Paid study leave (one day study leave per subject per semester including day of exam), with a maximum of four days study leave per calendar year. Monthly study allowance for the duration of the cadetship (i.e. until graduated from university). Monthly technology allowance. Flexibility to adjust workdays when required to facilitate attendance at university lectures and tutorials.
