As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church. Speak the language of comfort and care, share faith and friendship in Hindi. We are looking for a compassionate Hindi speaking pastoral care volunteer to visit a lovely woman once a week for one hour. Originally from Fiji and now living with her son and daughter in law, she finds deep comfort in hearing the Bible read and being prayed for. A gentle presence and heartfelt words in Hindi would bring her great joy and spiritual connection. Offer comfort through faith and language. Apply now to make a meaningful difference. You’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: Support people to meet their spiritual needs Skills and qualifications Skills required for this role: High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer. Your impact Volunteering along side Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
