Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic We are seeking an Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team Position Type Temporary full time – up to 4 years Salary Salary is based on the T rates of the Local Government (State) Award, (based on 76 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation. About The Role Ensure that service related to Council’s Minor Plant, Major Plant, Light Fleet and Heavy Fleet is carried out effectively, efficiently, safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications. Assist in the provision of a minor plant service for Council’s works (Grade T). Position Requirements Class C Drivers Licence Year 10 Certificate (minimum) About You We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about mechanics. You will have good communication skills, enjoy working in a team environment and have a willingness to learn. You will need to attend TAFE and pass all modules satisfactorily, and you will be expected to follow instructions from the supervisor and senior mechanics. You will be expected to work in both the mechanical workshop and field operations environment and will be required to visit other Council premises or related business premises to conduct your role. You will be required to work a 9 day fortnight with a rostered day off, with the hours of work generally 6:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday.
