The Role: We are currently looking for an Associate or Senior Associate with 2 - 7 years PAE to join our corporate team in Brisbane working with award‑winning Partner Eugene Fung, featured in the Legal 500. Eugene is a highly experienced corporate, securities and commercial lawyer. His industry experience includes energy (particularly renewable energy) and resources projects, mining services, agribusiness, manufacturing, private equity, financial services, technology commercialisation, property development, and franchising. The work would include: M&A transactions; Equity & debt capital markets; Joint ventures; Corporate governance; Restructures; General commercial and corporate contracts. To be successful in this role, you will need to: Have solid experience and exposure to M&A transactions as well as a strong background in Corporate Advisory / Mergers & Acquisitions with a mid‑market focus preferably, through experience gained in mid to top‑tier firms; Have solid experience with legal due diligence including drafting due diligence reports; Experience with reviewing and drafting contracts; Possess a willingness to have a hands‑on approach as a client‑focused practitioner, with great relationship‑building and communication skills; Possess a willingness and ability to understand clients’ commercial needs and objectives and provide solutions to achieve these; Provide sound, pragmatic and innovative legal advice to the firm’s corporate clients; Good contract drafting skills, legal analysis and problem‑solving skills to varied situations; Have excellent attention to detail, analytical skills which will be backed up by strong academics; A thirst to develop as this is a role that offers genuine career development.
