Blackall Range Independent School (BRIS) is a vibrant, community-focused Prep to Year 12 school nestled in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Our school is dedicated to fostering innovative, inclusive, and student-centered learning environments. We are currently seeking an engaging and skilled part-time (2 days/0.4 FTE) Japanese LOTE Teacher to deliver high-quality language learning experiences across Prep–Year 10. The successful applicant will inspire students to explore Japanese language, traditions, and cultural perspectives while contributing to a vibrant whole‑school learning community. This is a 12 month contract with the goal to transition into a permanent position (ongoing). Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Japanese lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum for Prep–Year 10. Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centred classroom environment that supports diverse learners. Integrate Japanese cultural learning experiences, celebrations, and hands‑on activities into the program. Assess and report on student progress using a range of formative and summative strategies. Collaborate with teachers and leadership to contribute to whole‑school curriculum development. Participate in school events, professional learning, and staff collaboration consistent with BRIS's ethos of inquiry and student agency. Qualifications Teaching qualifications and current QCT registration (or eligibility to obtain). Demonstrated experience or strong capacity to teach Japanese across primary and secondary year levels. Advanced conversational Japanese language proficiency is required to effectively deliver instruction across all year levels. Passion for student-centred learning and developing authentic cultural connections. Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to engaging students in a rich and meaningful language‑learning journey. Why Join Us?
