Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Lead Civil Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering team in our Perth Office. You will work in a team of civil designer/drafters and engineers managed by our Principal Civil Engineer as well as liaise with members of other discipline teams to work on mining resource projects that will be constructed all around the world. Reporting to our Principal Civil Engineer your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Engineering input into the design of civil earthworks, roads and stormwater by 12D civil designers Managing the day-to-day running of civil earthworks design, civil designers, attending relevant meetings and reporting to the Principal Civil Engineer on allocated projects Undertake engineering calculations and reports Review 2D drawings and 3D project models of civil works including earthworks, roads and stormwater in a timely manner to ensure compliance with design intent Review of bulk earthworks, volume calculations and material take-offs (Schedule of Quantities) Work with our other offices across the globe for the delivery of design work Work with other discipline team members (e.g. concrete, structural, mechanical) and consulting firms to help ensure suitable integration at discipline interfaces Engineering support for construction queries associated with project designs by liaising with on-site personnel Support the Principal Civil Engineer with input into engineering estimates, project budget updates, resource & schedule management The expertise you'll bring University Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Minimum 25 years’ experience in Civil Engineering Experience in the design of site earthworks, roads, stormwater, sewerage (preferable but not essential) and other minor site infrastructure Ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with co-workers in Perth and our other offices plus clients and other consulting firms Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem‑solving skills Display the core values and ethos of the company Experience in the resource sector preferable but not essential If you are not already in the resource sector, this is a great career opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer who has local infrastructure or land development experience to move into the sector and work on projects that will be constructed all around the world.
