Lead Platform Engineer AWS Join Australian Post as a Lead Platform Engineer to drive the design, build and maintenance of AWS Cloud Platforms that support our customers and communities. What you’ll deliver with us Lead a team of software engineers developing the AWS Cloud Platform, providing technical leadership in design, coding, configuration and evolving cloud platforms with in-depth AWS expertise. Commercial & Strategic Priorities People leader responsibility for the AWS Platform Engineers Senior level collaboration with architects, engineers and customer experience experts Thought leadership implementing best practice automation, DevOps engineering techniques to design and implement secure, simple and impactful solutions Champion innovative coding solutions and guide the team on the software development journey Expertise in Cloud Platforms technologies, primarily AWS Essential Experience 3+ years people leader experience AWS Cloud Platform technologies and services Security and compliance engineering concepts Proven experience building and supporting secure code pipelines, CI/CD using GitLab Expertise in multiple programming languages; Golang, Python preferred 5-7 years experience managing software/platform solutions Stakeholder engagement and relationship building at all organisational levels Drive new ways of working (Agile) across broader teams Critical Knowledge AWS certifications Technical and/or Professional Qualifications/ Skills Required AWS Cloud Certifications highly desirable Other Cloud Certifications desirable Subject matter expert for AWS Cloud Platform related activities 5-7 years engineering Cloud Platform solutions and landing zone design Experience with 2-3 software development languages (Golang, Open Policy Agent, YAML, JSON, Terraform) Understanding of cloud infrastructure level – VPCs, networks, security, identity Experienced DevOps practitioner Experience with self‑service provisioning automation and CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline Excellent planning, communication and presentation skills Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence outcomes Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues Member of the 24x7 support roster We’re delivering together At Australian Post we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate and strive to create an inclusive workplace for people from all walks of life.
