Senior Solutions Architect

We’re seeking a senior solution architect to join our team of Architects. As the world’s interaction with technology develops, the solutions that support businesses within Government and Industry are rapidly altering. We are seeking individuals who can provide leadership to our clients as they embark on this journey. Architect Team Lead Job Responsibilities and Duties: Primary Responsibilities Providing technical briefings to management and business on proposed solutions. Establishing, maintaining and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure high‑level requirements are transformed into effective development and software engineering. Working collaboratively with software developers and other technical delivery teams to ensure that detailed architecture, technical design and implementation align with endorsed architectural approaches and solution designs. Maintaining solution architecture skills, detailed technical knowledge and contemporary practice in the following (or similar) technologies and concepts: API‑based integration patterns; Define architecture policy, guidelines and standards; Modern data management tools (supporting both ETL and ELT patterns); Integrated Data Management solutions; Integrated DevOps/IAC and CI/CD pipelines; Open‑source and COTS technology products. Responsible for producing the following documentation Solution Architecture strategic documents including goals, objectives, policies, procedures and priorities for system design models and other design artefacts. Technically focussed architecture designs and guidance suitable for implementation by development, infrastructure and testing teams. Solution Architecture standards and best practice benchmarks. Solution Architecture for nominated initiatives. Supporting artefacts for architectural and design approval. Secondary Responsibilities Participating in and implementing governance processes to ensure rigorous review and contestability of technical solution designs and traceability to detailed implementation and testing. Working with partners and teams to ensure advice and designs are correct and complete from architecture through to detailed technical implementation advice. Monitoring and maintaining solution architecture quality across all initiatives. Developing and maintaining Solution Architecture standards and setting best practice benchmarks including alignment of solution architecture practice with other engineering practices (e.g., software development, data engineering, business analysis and testing). Developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures and priorities for system design models and other design artefacts. Maintaining internal delivery management mechanisms to ensure resources are effectively allocated to meet agreed timelines and standards. Will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to our Client staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Client’s record‑keeping policy and practices. Must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain appropriate security clearances. Infrastructure & Cloud Architect Skills and Qualifications Bachelor degree in IT, computer engineering or similar. Demonstrated 10+ years’ experience in the ICT industry, preferably in a variety of technical and architecture roles. Demonstrated technical team management ability, including mentoring and managing staff. Deep and wide technical knowledge and experience in several technical areas listed in the ‘Description of Services’ section. Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of independence and professionalism, including the ability to prioritise and undertake a varied workload and respond positively and flexibly to change. Strong interpersonal skills, including both oral and written communication, in addition to strong stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated ability to quickly build trust and effectively manage expectations. This includes supervision and productive working relationships of technical teams and team members. Demonstrated experience in software development and/or integration of complex data management and analysis solutions and ability to have a strong technical and detail‑oriented view of tasks.
