Having been recognised for the last 3 years running as a finalist for Commercial Team of the Year in the Lawyers Weekly, Australian Law Awards, this is a chance to work with an outstanding group of Corporate and Commercial lawyers in a collaborative and nurturing environment. While this role is based in our Sydney CBD office, at Bartier Perry we all have the opportunity to work flexibly and remotely. About the team Bartier Perry's Corporate & Commercial group is renowned for their robust expertise across all matters relating to corporate & commercial law. Led by 5 highly‑esteemed partners, the team undertakes a range of transactional and advisory work on behalf of public and private sector clients of varying sizes. They are trusted advisors to corporations and government agencies operating in diverse sectors, from manufacturing to transport, as well as education and technology. As an Associate in the team, you will play a key role in matters, including: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of corporate and commercial agreements Providing strategic advice on a variety of commercial matters including complex contracts, consumer law, licensing & procurement, IT & IP, privacy & cyber security, and PPSR interests Advising on mergers & acquisitions, funding arrangements Assisting with corporate governance issues, share splits and the incorporation of companies You will be involved in client liaison, and have general day‑to‑day responsibility of progressing files under appropriate senior supervision. The ideal candidate will possess Approximately 3 - 4 years of post‑admission experience in commercial and corporate law matters, including preparing terms of trade, shareholder deeds, assisting with sale and purchase of business transaction documents, and a keen interest in corporate advisory and restructuring Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail Strong academic results Strong legal technical skills The ability to prioritise tasks and manage workflow An interest in learning about our clients and their business About Bartier Perry A 2024 Employer of Choice, Bartier Perry is a firm where our culture drives all that we do.
