Quiet Companion Volunteer The Village Inglewood We’re launching a Quiet Companion Program at The Village and are seeking warm, patient volunteers to spend time with residents living with dementia in the late afternoon. This is a gentle, one‑on‑one role for people who enjoy calm interactions and making a real difference through presence rather than activity. What You’ll Do Sit with residents to provide comfort, reassurance, and friendly company Engage in soothing, meaningful activities such as: Quiet conversation Listening to music Reading Hand massages Short garden walks Support a peaceful environment from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, once a week Who This Role Suits Calm, patient, and empathetic Comfortable with silence and gentle connection Interested in dementia‑friendly communication Prefers one‑on‑one engagement rather than group activities What We Provide Training in dementia awareness, communication, meaningful engagement, and role boundaries A supportive onboarding and buddy process Ongoing check‑ins, debrief opportunities, and volunteer support A welcoming team culture where volunteers are truly valued Why Volunteer as a Quiet Companion?
