Privacy Manager

The opportunity to work for a growing bank, to manage and mitigate privacy risks. You'll be part of the wider Compliance function, currently a team of 10 people. This role is essential in protecting customer information, managing data risks in a rapidly evolving digital landscape and upholding trust in the bank. You'll be the point person for the Privacy reforms, and the go to for any privacy queries. In the role you'll have responsibility for: Privacy Compliance : Ensure compliance with Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and other relevant privacy laws including 2LOD oversight of the privacy impact assessment process. Data Governance : Develop and maintain robust data governance policies to protect sensitive information and ensure ethical data usage. Risk Management : Support the 1LOD in assessing and mitigating risks related to data and privacy obligations and support the ongoing implementation of the Privacy Risk Management Policy. Also provide assistance to the broader 2LOD Risk and Compliance function. Incident Response : Investigate and respond to data privacy and cyber incidents in accordance with data and cyber breach response plans and ensure timely regulatory reporting. Regulatory Adherence : Oversee compliance with APRA guidelines, banking regulations, and evolving cyber and privacy laws, manage changes to the impact of such regualtory changes. Stakeholder Engagement : Work collaberatively with all 2LOD team members, and the wider business. Training & Awareness : Ensure the effectiveness of employee training related to privacy regulations, data ethics and responsible data handling practices. To be successful you'll need: Extensive compliance experience, ideally a compliance generalist with oversight across privacy, or a privacy specialist. Bachelor's degree in business or law or a related field Strong knowledge of privacy regulations and the ability to interept legislation Confident with senior stakeholders and the ability to liaise with professionals at all levels. #J-18808-Ljbffr
