We are looking for a motivated individual who we can train and develop into a skilled specialist in criminal appeals and contravention hearings. While you may have some familiarity with the Magistrates' Court and County Court Appeals, we don't expect you to be an expert. Our priority is to provide you with comprehensive, hands‑on training and close mentorship from senior solicitors, giving you the tools and confidence to succeed. You will Receive structured training: Learn the intricacies of preparing and managing appeals and contravention hearings in the County and Supreme Courts from the ground up. Be fully supported: Work under the close guidance and mentorship of senior lawyers who are invested in your development. Grow your skills gradually: Begin by assisting with case preparation and research, and progressively take on more responsibility as your confidence and skills grow. Gain invaluable courtroom experience: Learn how to effectively instruct Counsel and assist in hearings, mentions, and directions. Build a professional network: We will guide you as you learn to liaise with Court staff, Victoria Police, Crown Prosecutors, and defence practitioners. About you You are a driven and enthusiastic lawyer with a foundational knowledge of criminal law. You have a strong desire to learn and a proactive attitude. You possess excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to absorb new information. You are a collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive environment. You are eager to build a long‑term career in criminal litigation. Mandatory Requirements Must be admitted to the legal profession as an Australian Lawyer. Must hold (or be eligible to hold) a current Victorian Practising Certificate.
