The Executive Director, First Nations Capital will be central to this mission – leading strategic capital investment and portfolio initiatives that expand social housing supply and deliver fit-for-purpose homes for First Nations peoples and communities across the State. This essential leadership role will drive delivery towards the State’s bold social housing agenda. The Executive Director will lead the delivery of First Nations social housing initiatives, accelerating supply through innovative delivery models, strategic partnerships and modern construction methods, helping to achieve the State’s target of 53,500 social homes by 2044. Working with community, industry and across government, you will drive delivery with a strong focus on outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Queenslanders most in need. This role is about more than delivering projects – it’s about shaping a legacy. Working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders, community housing providers, and all levels of government, you will deliver housing solutions that are culturally appropriate, sustainable and locally driven, with a particular focus on remote and discrete communities. About the Role Reporting to the General Manager, First Nations Housing and Homelessness, the Executive Director, First Nations Capital will lead the design, delivery and strategic coordination of major capital programs that meet State housing targets and deliver culturally appropriate housing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You will Lead the delivery of First Nations social housing initiatives that increase supply across Queensland, with a focus on remote and discrete communities. Provide strategic direction on capital investment programs, ensuring alignment with departmental and whole-of-government priorities. Drive innovation in financing, procurement and partnerships, maximising the impact of government investment and leveraging alternative funding models. Build strong partnerships with First Nations leaders, community housing providers, local governments and peak bodies to ensure housing solutions are locally led and sustainable. Oversee compliance and governance across capital projects, supporting Indigenous community housing organisations to build capability, manage assets and deliver culturally grounded outcomes. Champion collaboration across sectors, contributing to the delivery of the Securing our Foundations Blueprint and the broader goal of reducing homelessness and improving housing stability for all Queenslanders. About You You are a proven senior executive with deep experience leading complex infrastructure or housing programs in government, industry or the not-for-profit sector. You bring strategic vision, cultural competency and a collaborative mindset — with the ability to deliver results. You are recognised for your: Strong record of leadership in large and complex organisations, with an ability to inspire high performance and integrity. Extensive experience working with First Nations communities, leaders and stakeholders to deliver tangible outcomes. Expertise in strategic capital investment, policy implementation and housing program delivery. Skill in managing complex stakeholder environments, building trust and achieving consensus in sensitive contexts.
