Primary Objective Under the direction of the Cyber Security Analyst, follow the NT Government’s ICT framework to help protect existing and proposed systems, applications, software, networks and supporting infrastructure against cyber related threats and ensure the responsive development, management and resilience of the NT Government’s ICT operating environment. Context Statement The Department of Corporate and Digital Development manages digital systems on behalf of NT Government agencies. This position in all of government Cyber Security unit provides advice and review of technology proposals; design, implementation and proactive monitoring of cyber protections for the NTG computing environment; incident response and management of security issues. The position operates in a centralised, outsourced ICT environment that may require occasional out-of-hours work. Key Duties and Responsibilities Support the analysis and assessment of existing and proposed systems, applications, software, networks and supporting infrastructure to help protect the NT Government’s ICT operating environment, including helping to monitor security controls, regulatory compliance and identifying potential risks. Security monitoring, threat hunting and incident management of the NT Governments IT infrastructure and systems. Assist in managing the day‑to‑day delivery, administration, maintenance, and support for the operational cyber security environment and assign priorities to work and service requests, problems, and changes. Participate in cyber security projects, including cloud assessments, penetration testing, and remediation activities as required. Provide administrative support services to the Director and team members including assisting with preparation and coordination of high‑level documentation, procurement and general correspondence. Selection Criteria Essential Criteria Sound experience and knowledge of ICT services and infrastructure including the development and delivery of computer, server, local area and wide area network services and associated security for a large and highly dispersed client base. Good knowledge of incident management and cyber related risk assessment and mitigation strategies, including associated legislative compliance, governance frameworks, policies and procedures (e.g. ISO27000, ASD Essential 8). Demonstrated experience in supporting or coordinating delivery of ICT security solutions from an operational and/or project tracking reporting perspective. Well‑developed organisational and interpersonal skills to efficiently manage and prioritise own workload, work effectively autonomously and in a team, and interact effectively with a range of stakeholders. Good problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyse and research issues, articulate complex concepts and suggest effective solutions. Hold, or be able to obtain, an AusCheck security clearance from the Australian Department of Home Affairs. High level of integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of Commitment to Service, Innovation, Ethical Practice, Accountability, Impartiality, Diversity and Respect. Desirable Criteria Tertiary qualification in ICT or related discipline with industry certifications in Cyber Security e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA. Post‑graduate qualifications in a relevant area e.g. Cyber Security.
