If you don't see an opportunity in your area, please call or email Job Description Spread Joy, by joining our Volunteer Team Bring along your good natured pet and spend time chatting with people who may be frail and elderly at a residential aged care home in Nowra. You’ll see what a difference your furry friend can make. As you're bringing your pet into a care environment with frail and elderly residents or patients, we ask that your pet is: Calm and gentle in nature Up-to-date with vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas Nails should be short and blunt. Freshly cut nails can be sharp if not filed down. Dogs should be kept on a lead always. This role will suit you if you have a small-medium sized pet and you're happy to just to sit and not necessarily talk all the time. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with. HammondCare HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, supporting people to live in their homes and maintain their independence. We're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need and we have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of clients who are living at home. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. Requirements 18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare • We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30 minute visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability. #J-18808-Ljbffr
