Overview STP funded Advanced Registrar training position opportunity in a Private ED in the heart of the Gold Coast. Pindara Private is a well established Private Hospital in Benowa on the Gold Coast. We were the first Private Emergency Department in the country. We have had an accredited training position for the last 10 years. We see approx 25,000 presentations per year, predominantly medical/ortho/surgical. We do not have accreditation for Psych and we do not manage multitrauma, but almost all other specialties are covered. Referrals are direct to Inpatient Specialists with no "stone walling" from junior registrars. Next to no bed block. Very little ramping. We are a senior, well established staff and all work independently. We have 7 staggered shifts per day with FACEM or senior CMO's. Applicants will be expected to be capable of independent practice with senior supervision and support available. Night shifts are solo with on-call Specialist but are nothing like a public night shift. It is a great place to work with very little staff turnover and would be a good option for someone trying to establish themselves on the Gold Coast long term. Flexible rostering with generous teaching time and a DEMT with a very good local reputation for getting people through the fellowship. Plenty of medical student teaching opportunity if desired. Happy to delegate some Q&R meetings for portfolio building. Responsibilities Role is for a Tier 3 registrar (not accredited for T4 training – no junior Doctor supervision). Capable of independent practice with senior supervision and support available. Work across shifts, including night shifts that are solo with on-call Specialist. Engage in medical student teaching and participate in Q&R meetings for portfolio building. Refer referrals directly to Inpatient Specialists. Qualifications / Experience Experience as a registrar in emergency/acute settings is expected. Ability to practice independently with senior supervision. Familiarity with the ED environment and a willingness to work within the described rostering structure.
