This role is crucial to supporting the organisation's mission of providing high-quality, client-focused care in a safe and supportive environment for staff.
As the Financial Accountant, you will oversee the organisation's financial health.
Your expertise in data analysis and reporting will help you drive sound decisions and help the organisation meet its strategic objectives.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the financial reporting and analysis requirements of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities: Budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and yearly planning Oversee general accounting and payroll function Prepare financial statements and cyclical statistic reports Perform monthly, quarterly and annual financial reconciliations Ensure the organisation is compliant with financial regulations, tax and statutory reporting Prepare and present Board reports as required Identify and implement system and procedural improvements Conduct and maintain general ledger maintenance Reconcile balance sheet accounts Payroll management Financial risk mitigation Perform cost reports for all inhouse programs, day programs, respite, and analysis for cost effectiveness and future viability Analyse data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement and to provide insights to management for decision-making and recommendations Working as a part of a team, assisting when other team members are on leave or require assistance Qualifications & Experience Excellent communication and relationship building skills Relevant tertiary education Proven experience in accounting or finance Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and procedures Skills in tender and report writing, contract negotiation High level written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail Above average Microsoft Excel skills and high-level technical skills Experience in MYOB and workforce management systems Have strong organizational skills Proven track record in a similar role Experience in NDIS / Home Care Packages is highly regarded.
Experience in implementing & understanding system functionality would be advantageous.
To be successful for this role, you will need to provide a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
Full working rights to work in Australia are also required for this role.
