What You’ll Be Doing Using innovative, evidence‑based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use, taking a trauma‑informed approach and providing respectful, person‑centred care tailored to each individual’s needs. Key responsibilities include: Working with a team of clinicians to provide high‑level clinical skills and program delivery to support substance‑using parents Managing complicated challenges and referrals to other services Supporting antenatal care and developing appropriate care plans in consultation with clients, families and team members Employing a strengths‑based and trauma‑informed approach to address risks and strengthen families Maintaining professional boundaries and fostering trust and rapport with clients and colleagues Criteria Tertiary qualifications in Social Work with evidence of extensive clinical experience in a hospital or health field as a practising Social Worker at Level 3 or above (Drug and Alcohol experience advantageous) and membership (or eligibility) with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Current unrestricted driver’s licence; the role requires travel across the Lower and Upper Hunter sector. Demonstrated ability to use a strengths‑based and trauma‑informed approach; comprehensive understanding of the social and emotional needs of clients with Drug and Alcohol issues, including clinical response and care planning. High‑level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
