Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network, Kangaroo Island Health Service Salary : WHA-2 $28.53 - $28.82 per hour plus 25% casual loading- Casual, working over a 7 day roster Overview This is a unique opportunity to work on Australia’s picturesque Kangaroo Island as a Service Assistant. The Role As a Services Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a timely, efficient and effective service, that involves the catering, cleaning and laundry of the health unit. Duties may include the preparation, service and delivery of food to clients, general housekeeping and laundry duties as required. Eligibility & Requirements The successful applicant will hold the following essential minimum requirements: A current driver’s licence and a willingness to drive on country roads. Flexibility and commitment to participate in a rostering system (including weekends as required). At minimum, a limited level of experience in the areas of housekeeping, cooking/catering and laundry. Experience working with Aboriginal consumers. A basic knowledge of safe working conditions, Food Safety Standards and Infection Control Standards (including cleaning and sanitising processes). Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Successful completion of Year 11 High School or equivalent. A current First Aid Certificate. Experience in the areas of housekeeping, cooking/catering and laundry. Check(s) DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC). National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (e.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients). Immunisation Risk for this position Category A (Direct Contact with blood or body substances). SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
