About the Role The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chemist to join our fast‑paced laboratory, working on fuels, petrochemicals, oils, and coal. The successful candidate will have experience in petroleum/hydrocarbon testing and a degree in Chemistry or related scientific field. This role is for parental leave coverage until approximately August 2026. However, this is subject to change. Conduct analysis of petroleum products. Lead and oversee testing projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Develop and implement new testing methods. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Provide mentorship and guidance to Junior Chemists to foster professional development. Routine and non‑routine laboratory preparation, testing and analysis of petroleum, chemicals, LPG, oils, and related product samples as per ASTM, IP and AS methods. Testing in accordance with the laboratory's ISO 17025 accreditation. General housekeeping duties, maintenance, and quality matters, including calibration of equipment and documentation review. Selection Criteria Bsc in Chemistry or another relevant scientific field. Extensive experience in Petroleum testing. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong work ethic and the ability to be flexible. Understanding on Microsoft Office, Internet, and Email. Ability to work unsupervised. Sensitivity in dealing with confidential information.
