We are looking for an experienced Surgical registrar to provide high quality clinical service to patients under the guidance of consultant staff in the designated teaching units. This involves assessing the medical needs of patients and supporting junior staff through education, supervision and mentorship. Your Role At St John of God Murdoch Hospital you will play an integral part in providing some of the very best health care in Australia and gain a wide range of clinical experiences. The Position Evaluation of patients including medical history taking and physical examination under the direction of the consultant. Contribute to all aspects of the clinical care of patients who are admitted to hospital ensuring good communication with consultants, fellows, junior medical staff and all other members of the team, including nursing staff, allied health and pastoral services both onsite and offsite. Provide clinical supervision and teaching to junior medical staff. Lead or supervise documentation (minimum daily) of all relevant details of the patients’ care whilst in hospital, admission, history and examination, results of investigations, care plan, interdisciplinary consultation advice, discharge and follow-up plans. Assist junior medical staff to arrange investigations (radiology, pathology, microbiology, haematology, biochemistry etc) and document results. Coordinate multidisciplinary management of patients, including attendance at the daily huddle, consultation requests for Allied Health or other medical specialties and nurse case managers. Qualifications You will be eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), with a minimum of 3 years clinical experience and at least 12 months experience within Australian Healthcare. Experience in completing the skills courses conducted by the Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) or equivalent, and the RACS Operating with respect eLearning module, will be highly regarded. Benefits Salary: $125,010 to $170,682 per annum, plus 12% superannuation. Professional development allowance $11,381 pro rata per annum if part time. Salary packaging up to $18,550 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses. A healthy work-life balance through flexible work options, additional purchased leave & well‑being programs. Fixed term full‑time. 3 weeks Professional Development Leave per annum. Purchase up to 2 weeks of additional annual leave.
