We’re offering a career-defining opportunity for a passionate, values-driven leader to join us as Area Manager, based in Mackay with regular travel to Cairns to oversee services across both regions. Why This Role Matters As an Area Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind exceptional care. You’ll lead teams across multiple residential programs, ensuring young people receive culturally informed, therapeutic support that truly changes lives. What You’ll Do Lead & Inspire: Mentor Care Leaders and Practitioners to deliver excellence. Drive Quality: Champion compliance and best practice standards. Grow the Region: Expand programs and services aligned with funding and care goals. Champion Culture: Embed cultural values and trauma-informed care across teams. Support Your People: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and succession planning. Be Present: Maintain a strong leadership presence across Mackay and Cairns sites. Represent MANAWISE: Engage stakeholders, lead meetings, and shape policy. About You You’re a passionate advocate for young people and a trusted leader. You Bring: Proven Leadership Experience in residential care settings, with a track record of guiding and developing teams. Relevant Qualifications, ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field. Expert Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and the Child Protection Act 1999. Mandatory Certifications including a current Blue Card, First Aid, valid driver’s licence, and police check. Ability to Obtain a Licensed Care Services Suitability Screening. Completion of Hope and Healing Training (or willingness to complete).
