Head of Quantum Algorithms & Applications (Team Lead) BTQ is advancing the frontier of quantum and post-quantum technologies, developing algorithms that accelerate cryptographic protocols and other high-impact applications using quantum resources. The Quantum Algorithms & Applications team focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing quantum algorithms and post-quantum primitives that push the boundaries of secure and efficient computation. Researchers in this group collaborate closely with BTQ’s hardware, cryptography, and product engineering teams to integrate quantum acceleration into practical systems and deliver breakthrough performance. This role combines deep theoretical insight with applied research and development to advance BTQ’s leadership in quantum innovation. Additional Duties Define and execute the team’s technical roadmap aligned with company strategy. Build and manage a high-performing research team; recruit, mentor, and allocate resources. Drive collaboration with partners; deliver milestones from research to product. Represent BTQ at standards bodies, conferences, and executive briefings. Requirements PhD plus 5 or more years post-PhD research/leadership experience. Record of impactful research or deployed quantum applications. Strong communication, strategic planning, and stakeholder management. Remuneration Globally competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus superannuation and benefits.
