Wollongong City Council is offering a unique opportunity for a motivated and passionate Graduate Civil Engineers to gain hands‑on experience, contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects, and grow into a confident professional. As a Graduate Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to deliver a wide range of civil engineering projects across the Wollongong LGA. You'll gain hands‑on experience in design, project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement—all while contributing to an extraordinary Wollongong. This is a 3‑year Term Contract position. Salary from : $87, up to $100, per annum plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications) What you will be doing As a Graduate Engineer, you'll work across a broad range of civil engineering operations within our Project Delivery Branch, contributing to the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects. You'll : Assist with the design and scoping of stormwater, transport, and development‑related infrastructure. Work within multidisciplinary teams and support project documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication. Coordinate subcontractors and fieldwork with a focus on quality, safety, and outcomes. Apply engineering standards, Council policies, and WHS principles in all aspects of your work. Develop your skills under the guidance of experienced engineers while contributing to an extraordinary Wollongong. About you You're a motivated and adaptable individual who is either : Recently completed (within the last 2 years) or currently studying to complete a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, with eligibility to graduate prior to commencement Eligibility for professional membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia. You also bring : A strong sense of ownership over your learning and development. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders. Solid computer and analytical skills, with a basic understanding of project management. A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team.
