Weighbridge Attendant Location: Tamworth, NSW Seniority Level: Entry level Employment Type: Full time Overview Tamworth Regional Council is seeking a reliable, customer‑focused and professional Weighbridge Attendant to join our Waste Management and Resource Recovery team. Based at our landfill facility, the role plays an important part in ensuring that all waste entering the site is accurately assessed, recorded, and managed in accordance with Council and statutory requirements. As the first point of contact for site users, you will deliver excellent customer service while maintaining compliance, safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities Monitor and control waste entering the landfill, including screening, assessing and classifying material. Record waste types and quantities to meet Council and statutory reporting obligations. Collect fees, issue receipts, and maintain accurate records of waste deposits and product sales. Maintain landfill site presentation and operational standards. Ensure all site activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements. Qualifications and Experience 1–3 years of experience in a similar role. Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, clients and team members. Ability to process financial transactions accurately and efficiently. Familiar with weighbridge systems (e.g., Mandalay). Proficient in Microsoft Office for data entry and record keeping. Experience operating a forklift safely and competently. Commitment to safe work practices and teamwork. Essential Requirements NSW Driver’s Licence. Certificate II, or equivalent licence(s) or certificate(s) requiring 400–600 hours. WHS Construction Card. Immunisation for Hepatitis A and B, Tetanus, Q Fever (or willingness to undergo). Salary Grade 6 – $1,113.60 – $1,205.00 per week (excluding superannuation) for a 38‑hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and value to our organisation.
