Lead Queensland’s statutory adjudication registry under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (Qld). Uphold impartiality, timely outcomes and service excellence, drive efficient adjudication administration and maximise service quality through people, process and clarity. Lead a supportive, high‑performance team culture. About The Role Reporting to the General Manager, Integrity and Risk, the Adjudication Registrar leads the QBCC’s statutory adjudication registry, administering payment dispute referrals, maintaining the adjudicator register, and ensuring strict statutory compliance while collaborating across the executive. The Role Will Administer intake, validity assessment and referral of applications to appropriately qualified external adjudicators. Maintain the adjudicator register – appointments, removals for conduct issues and oversight of professional development obligations. Ensure compliance with strict statutory timeframes. Identify service‑delivery improvement opportunities and refer proposals to the executive for enhancement. Lead a high‑performing team of approximately six and foster a healthy, collaborative culture. Qualifications & Eligibility Admitted, or eligible to be admitted, to the legal profession (mandatory). Experience in legislated decision‑making, procedural frameworks and relevant statutory or regulatory environments. Discipline to meet statutory timeframes and maintain registers with fair processes. Experience in administering appointment/registry functions, managing conduct or suitability matters with integrity. Public‑sector regulatory experience and knowledge of the construction/security‑of‑payment context – or a proven capacity to acquire it rapidly. Strategic outlook and ability to drive improvements in service delivery and operational effectiveness. Collaborative style that balances functional autonomy with constructive engagement across the ELT. Strong relationship‑building and communication skills. Statutory suitability: suitable under s150 and not disqualified under s151 BIF Act.
