Employment Details Employment Type : Permanent Part TimePosition Classification : Allied Health AssistantsRemuneration : $31.86 per hour + superHours Per Week : 18Location : John Hunter Children’s HospitalRequisition ID : REQ Applications Close : Monday, 1st December 2025 Where you'll be working The Formula Room Allied Health Assistants work with dietitians to provide specialised infant and enteral formula and infant feeding equipment to inpatients of the John Hunter and John Hunter Children’s Hospital, 7 days a week service, on a rotating roster. They also support the paediatric dietitians by providing clinical and administrative support to facilitate client/patient/consumer care. The Allied Health Assistant will work under the direction of Allied Health professionals and act in accordance with the Allied Health Assistant guidelines. About the role Working within a multidisciplinary team, tasks include taking formula/EBM/PDHM orders, preparing specialised formula/EBM/PDHM using HACCP principles, labelling and distributing formula and feeding equipment to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital and John Hunter Hospital. The successful candidate will be supported to actively engage in supervision and professional development activities. Completion of Certificate III in Nutrition and Dietetic Assistance or equivalent or Food science / Nutrition undergraduate student (following completion of year 2) or equivalent with relevant experience. Capacity to prepare and distribute infant and enteral formula safely with minimal errors including the ability to calculate recipes from dietitian instructions.
