Station Design and Development SME - AUS (f/m/d) DB International Operations GmbH is part of the DB group, a global leader in transport infrastructure, station operations, and mobility services. With extensive international experience designing, managing, and optimizing railway stations, including major high-speed rail hubs—we deliver modern, safe, and efficient passenger facilities that shape the future of mobility. We are seeking a Station Design & Development SME with strong experience in station planning, design coordination, and operational modelling for high-speed rail environments. Responsibilities Support the planning and development of high-speed rail station sites, contributing to functional layouts, spatial planning, and passenger flow concepts. Develop the technical scope, capacity parameters, and design requirements for new high-speed rail stations. Define and contribute to the organizational structure required for station operations. Lead dynamic passenger modelling activities, including crowd flow simulations and evacuation analyses. Develop crowd control and station operations procedures, including integration with emergency plans. Manage interfaces with the High-Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) and other station-related project stakeholders. Qualifications Extensive professional experience in station design, operations planning, or station development for major rail or high-speed rail systems. Strong knowledge of station operational requirements, passenger flow modelling, and pedestrian simulation tools. Experience developing station operating procedures, crowd control strategies, and emergency response coordination. Familiarity with station capacity planning and functional design principles for complex rail environments. Background in Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) planning is beneficial. Degree in Architecture, Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Development, or a related field. Strong stakeholder engagement and interface management skills. Ability to synthesize operational, technical, and spatial requirements into coherent station design guidance. Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination abilities.
