Business Operations Analyst / Business Operations Associate Business Operations Analyst / Business Operations Associate role at Blackbird based in Melbourne, VIC, AU. Blackbird is Australia's biggest venture capital fund. This role is a generalist covering finance, compliance, and operations. You'll cover a parental leave contract and work closely with Cattleya Vongpraseuth (Senior Operations Associate), Jun Hu (Operations Associate), and Jane Shaw (Operations Analyst). Key Responsibilities Fund Operations: support investor onboarding, capital calls, distributions and transfers. Investment Operations: ensure compliance with internal controls and investment restrictions. Investor Reporting: prepare and automate reports, including regulated superannuation funds. Portfolio Reporting: collect and aggregate information from portfolio companies. Compliance: work with team and advisors on ESVCLP, AML/KYC, PFIC, FATCA/CRS. Operational Processes: monitor, improve and automate internal processes. Data understanding: improve data collection end‑to‑end. Key controls: ensure audit‑ready controls. Role Requirements We value growth mindset over exact qualifications. The following skills are advantageous: Associate Role 3+ years of operations, tax, accounting, banking or consulting in financial services or funds management. Hands‑on experience designing automation tools or efficiency projects in finance. Experience in AML/CTF, ESVCLP, FATCA/CRS or Australian/offshore tax regimes. Analyst Role 1+ year of operations, tax, accounting, banking or consulting in financial services or funds management. Hands‑on experience implementing automation tools or efficiency projects. Basic knowledge of AML/CTF, ESVCLP, FATCA/CRS or Australian/offshore tax regimes. Both rolesStrong verbal and written communication, hospitality mindset. Creativity, high ownership mentality.
