This role as a Senior Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare in Northampton offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of residents every day. Main duties of the job As a Senior Care Assistant, your primary responsibilities will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver exceptional personal care, ensuring a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This will involve monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being involved in the person-centered care planning process, supporting residents with their medication requirements, and undertaking staff supervisions and development. You will also act as a key point of contact for residents, their relatives, and healthcare professionals. If this sounds like the place for you, wed love to hear from you ABOUT THE ROLE Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilities will include: Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation. Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations. Supporting residents with their medication requirements. Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required. Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated. Person Specification Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, 2 years' experience working in a similar care environment, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, a positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff, and the flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities.
