Aboriginal Counsellor (Identified) - Mental Health - Mid North Coast LHD Location: Mid North Coast Local Health District Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Classification: Mental Health Professionals (Counsellor L2/SWkr L2/Welfare Officer L2/Psych) Remuneration: 91,472 Hours per week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ Advertising Closes: 3 December 2025 To provide clinical mental health interventions and care coordination for Aboriginal people with a mental health concern or experiencing mental health distress. Provide early, non-crisis driven and culturally holistic therapeutic services across the lifespan that positively contribute to social and emotional wellbeing, and broader determinants of health for individuals, families and communities. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate mental health and Social Emotional and Wellbeing care in collaboration with individuals, their families, carers, Government and non-Government organisations and the Aboriginal Specialist Wellbeing team. Participate, organise and support community engagement and development activities in Aboriginal communities in relation to positive Social Emotional and Wellbeing, mental health stigma reduction along with providing cultural input to the Aboriginal Specialist Wellbeing Team as required.
