Restorative Justice Worker x2 (New Positions) Restorative Justice Worker (New Positions) 2x Part-time positions, 30.4 hours a week Fixed Term to 30th June 2027 This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander designated position, classified under Section 12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act (2010). This employment opportunity is only available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. About the Role We are looking for someone passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young Aboriginal people in the Hume region who are involved with, or at risk of becoming involved with, the criminal justice system, as well as their families. In this role, you will provide opportunities for young people and their families to participate in restorative group conferences, supporting healing, accountability, and stronger community connections. You will work alongside local government agencies and community services to coordinate effective support for participants, while also helping to raise awareness and build expertise in restorative practices across the Hume region. About You To be successful, you must have the following knowledge and skills. You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Have or be willing to obtain a Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a related discipline. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community, both society and culture and the issues impacting on it. Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of key factors associated with rates of over‑representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the criminal justice system, including the impacts of modern disadvantage and intergenerational effects. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to function both independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and service providers. Highly developed organisation skills and a demonstrated capacity to work flexibly and within timeframes. Demonstrated high level of computer literacy including maintaining a computer‑based diary management system to enable effective and informed client bookings.
