Who are we looking for? We are seeking a highly skilled and security‑mindful Avionics Component Workshop Technician to support defence aviation operations in Newcastle, NSW . If you bring strong avionics maintenance experience, a commitment to precision, and the professionalism required to work in a defence‑regulated environment, we would like to hear from you. Your role In this role, you will contribute directly in a defence sector by ensuring the reliability and serviceability of critical avionics systems. Your key responsibilities will include: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic and avionics systems using advanced diagnostic and testing tools. Perform precision repairs, calibration, and functional testing of circuit boards and avionics assemblies in accordance with industry and regulatory standards. Maintain and service a range of avionics systems, including communication, navigation, surveillance, autopilot, and radar technologies integrated into mission‑critical aviation platforms. Record and maintain detailed documentation of maintenance, testing, and calibration work to meet quality assurance and compliance requirements. Essential requirements Relevant years of working experience as an Avionics Technician in the defence or related sector Experience working on Lead‑in Fighter aircraft Cert IV Aeroskills (Avionics) and relevant MEAs Australian citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 Australian Defence security clearance (visit AGSVA website for more information about Security Clearances) AOD test prior to commencement of contract Don’t have a Defence clearance?
