We’re seeking an experienced HV Electrical Estimator to join Ventia’s growing Energy & Renewables team. Reporting to the Lead Estimator, you’ll prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for substation construction projects and minor capital works, supporting the strategic growth and delivery of our business. You’ll work closely with the Project Directors, and collaborate with commercial, finance, and delivery teams to ensure successful bids and project handovers. This role will ideally be based in Melbourne, however consideration will be given to other locations within Australia. What You’ll Do Develop detailed cost estimates and pricing schedules for HV substations, grid connections, switching yards, and related infrastructure. Review tender documents and coordinate approval processes. Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate cost data. Participate in risk and opportunity workshops to optimise margin and mitigate risk. Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools and processes. What We’re Looking For Sound knowledge of HV substations, primary and secondary equipment, grid connections, and switching yards. Proven experience in cost estimating and commercial risk assessment for substation projects. Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant Electrical Trade certificate (preferred). Strong analytical and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., CATS, Pronamics Expert Estimation). Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a matrix environment. Why Join Us?
