Opportunity Overview The Senior Software Engineer will design and implement software solutions across multiple platforms as part of a hybrid full‑time role (3 days in the office, 2 days remote). This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of classroom technology with a dedicated team of experienced engineers. What You Will Do Design and implement software solutions across multiple platforms. Build, maintain, and automate cloud infrastructure for production environments. Write high‑quality, maintainable code and conduct peer code reviews. Analyze product requirements, break down user stories into tasks with estimates, and build automated build, test, and deployment pipelines. Operate reliability engineering practices—monitoring, alarms, incident management. Experience 7+ years of experience in a software engineering role. Leadership in developing new features, including establishing requirements, architectural design, protocol documentation, task breakdown, and delivery within estimated timelines. Essential Skills Advanced knowledge of JavaScript in a Node.js and/or browser environment. Experience with additional programming languages (C/C++, Java, Ruby on Rails). Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly. Experience administering Unix/Linux development environments. Advantageous Skills Experience with operating‑system‑level software: Linux kernel tweaks and Android services. Networking expertise (TCP/UDP/HTTP/TLS, Wi‑Fi authentication, RTP/WebRTC video streaming). Debugging and diagnosing remote systems via logs. Low‑level audio/visual transcoding with GStreamer / FFmpeg. AWS services (EC2, Lambda, ECS, Terraform) and database technologies (PostgreSQL). React, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, SQL, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Electron or Cordova for cross‑platform desktop and mobile applications. Vivi is an equal‑opportunity employer.
