Sawmill Mechanic

We are a small family business looking to add an experienced Maintenance Mechanic / Fitter to our team. You will help keep our sawmill running at its best, working on a variety of machinery and equipment within the sawmill as well as our prime movers and trailers (as needed). Your role will include preventative and corrective maintenance as required. Paid overtime as required; on a voluntary basis excluding instance of major repairs / breakdowns or other circumstance where required. We have a small team, all reporting directly to the owners who will be working alongside you on a daily basis. Our annual calendar includes monthly RDOs and an annual shutdown. Saturdays may be required at times. Role includes the following requirements: Maintain plant and equipment- ensure correct function to avoid productivity down-time. Ensure breakdowns are resolved as soon as possible including short fixes to resume production, and longer fixes (out of production time) to ensure problems are thoroughly rectified and not recurring. Work on minor and major shutdowns and improvement projects outside usual hours by agreement. Willingness to identify and advance improvement and changes throughout the business’ equipment and procedures. Prioritise safe work practices within all tasks. Work productively with, and foster existing relationships with external local suppliers – suppliers, trades etc. #J-18808-Ljbffr
