We provide a unique two-to-three-year program for young people in Years 10 to 12 designed to progressively develop employability skills and achieve individualized learning goals while meeting the requirements of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). Our aim is to seamlessly blend senior education and vocational training to engage young people in purposeful learning experiences that are relevant to the real world of industry. About the role We are now seeking an Inclusive Education Teacher to join our Ipswich School and be part of our passionate and dynamic team to meet the needs of our young people and Industry Partners. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with disabilities by recommending and implementing reasonable adjustments that help them achieve their goal of attaining QCE and a career pathway in industry. 12 month Full Time Contract to end 2026 If you are someone who : Puts students at the centre of everything you do Knows how to make learning engaging and meaningful Brings real-world experience into the classroom Can create a supportive and motivating space for young people Then this role is for you Come be part of a school that's evolving, elevating, and making a difference - not just in education, but in the lives of our students and Industry Partners. Key outcomes include : Empowering young people with a disability to be lifelong learners. Providing students with practical experience and learning related to a future career path in their chosen industry field. Delivering curriculum content that reflects contemporary industry practices, to improve the education and employability outcomes of our young people. Enhancing the well‑being and holistic character development of our young people through a solution‑focused, goal‑oriented approach. Identifying levels of adjustments, developing supportive programs, and working with young people with a disability to support them in their learning in consultation with the Assistant Principal and Principal. Typical activities will include : Assess students' abilities and limitations and support the creation of individual education plans. Plan, organise, and implement special programmes where appropriate. Support adjustments to assessments, complete AARAs, and lead meetings with parents / caregivers of young people with a disability. Contextualise whilst teaching, share practical tools and self‑help skills to young people with a disability. Develop supportive learning environments, through the provision of clear communication and effective learning space management. Create positive and proactive relationships with our young people, parents, relevant external industry stakeholders, and employees that lead to a supportive and positive College community. Engage with the ICT of teaching and learning, demonstrating the capacity to integrate technology effectively into learning space practice. Comply with policies and processes that ensure safety, equity, quality assurance, and adherence to the requirements of legislation and internal / external regulatory bodies (such as QCAA, ASQA, VQF and NSSAB). Work closely with all employees, but specifically our industry consultants to support our young people to develop skills and capabilities across all Industry School values and employability metrics. Coaching and mentoring of young people to develop well‑rounded, employable graduates focused on a successful career in industry.
