Senior Legal Counsel - Contract Role - Canberra Role: Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel with experience in litigation for a contract role (5–6 months). The successful candidate will manage a small but complex litigation load, supporting all stages of the litigation lifecycle. Responsibilities Managing respondent matters across judicial review, class actions, AAT matters and related disputes. Reviewing submissions, preparing evidence and assisting with discovery. Liaising with external law firms and Commonwealth agencies. Managing subpoenas and briefing internal clients. Supporting litigation strategy and risk management. About You / Qualifications Minimum 3+ years post-admission experience. More experienced legal counsel highly regarded. Strong grasp of administrative law and litigation processes. Ability to manage competing deadlines and provide clear, practical advice. Strong written communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills. Requirements Baseline security clearance (or ability to obtain one). Preference for on-site in Canberra. Remote considered for suitable candidates. Full-time preferred.
