Job Title Assistant Principal Special Education – Visual Impairment (Itinerant) – Warwick Farm Public School Location Sydney Region – Warwick Farm Public School Remuneration Total Remuneration Package: $168,946.00 (base salary $149,059.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation). Position Details Full‑time, 1.000 FTE. Role Summary The Itinerant Support Teacher Assistant Principal – Vision (APISTV) role supports schools to ensure full curriculum access for students with confirmed vision disabilities across preschools, primary schools, high schools, schools for specific purposes and support classes. It requires leading and mentoring staff, conducting assessments, participating in review meetings, providing expert advice, coordinating complex systems, delivering targeted professional learning and liaising with the Team Around a School and external providers. The role is based at Warwick Farm Public School in the Liverpool network and requires travel to schools across networks. Responsibilities Model high expectations, foster a collaborative and accountable team culture, and build staff capability to ensure cohesive, consistent practices. Lead and mentor a Vision Team at the base school. Conduct assessments and provide evidence‑based adjustments. Coordinate complex systems, caseloads, and professional learning sessions. Collaborate with the Team Around a School and external providers. Support students with vision impairment and promote inclusive practices. Specific Selection Criteria Demonstrated approval and willingness to teach students with vision impairment across all educational settings from Preschool to Year 12, including readiness to travel itinerantly. Builds strong relationships with students, families and schools, and leads a high‑performing Vision Team. Proven capacity to foster a collaborative team culture, mentoring colleagues, innovating and coordinating complex systems while leading a cohesive vision support team at the base school. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong organisational and management skills to lead collaborative planning, support team operations and coordinate effective case management across the network. Capacity to promote an effective inclusive learning environment, grounded in knowledge of the Disability Standards for Education and the needs of diverse cultural backgrounds. General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and teams. Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
