Principal / Senior Structural Engineer We're seeking a principal/senior structural engineer to provide senior-level support across a diverse portfolio of structural engineering projects. This is a key role within our Engineering East team, offering the opportunity to work from concept through to delivery on high-impact projects primarily within the mineral resources and mining sectors. Key Responsibilities Act as the technical authority on structural engineering projects, delivering expert guidance across all phases from scoping studies to detailed design and execution. Mentor and develop a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence, professional growth, and knowledge sharing. Lead structural analysis, design reviews, and peer reviews to ensure robust, innovative, and compliant solutions. Collaborate with internal disciplines, external stakeholders, and clients to align on project objectives and deliver optimal outcomes. Work closely with the drafting team to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely drawing outputs. Drive compliance with Australian Standards, client specifications, industry best practices, and legislative requirements. Key Skills & Qualifications Degree in civil/structural engineering. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) & RPEQ accreditation. 10+ years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering, with demonstrated expertise across studies, detailed design, and execution phases on major projects. Robust experience in consultancy across Australian Mining and Minerals sector. Proven technical leadership on complex, multidisciplinary projects, with experience in design assurance and peer review processes. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a history of building trusted client and partner relationships. Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and time management skills. Innovative, risk-based approach to engineering challenges and a commitment to continuous improvement.
