We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join the Network Services team of a leading energy distribution company. This role is responsible for providing engineering expertise across the design, estimating, and management of distribution line projects, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes. As part of the design team, you will also contribute to survey works, asset recording, and the implementation of policies and procedures relating to distribution and sub-transmission assets. Key Responsibilities Deliver design and engineering advice for overhead lines, underground lines, and distribution substations in line with industry standards, guidelines, and customer requirements Prepare detailed construction plans for distribution projects and maintain accurate system records Provide design management on projects of varying scale and complexity to meet time, cost, and quality objectives Support the development of design standards and policies in line with organisational, regulatory, and statutory requirements Undertake minor survey and field work to support design accuracy Mentor and provide technical guidance to design personnel within the team Actively contribute to continuous improvement of design practices, systems, and processes Key Requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electrical or related discipline) Strong knowledge of overhead / underground line design and distribution substation design principles Proven experience working on distribution and sub-transmission projects Understanding of project scoping, estimating, and design management processes Knowledge of safety guidelines, including Safety in Design and OH&S legislation Strong technical communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers and designers is desirable Benefits Work with a respected leader in the energy distribution sector Strong career development pathways and mentoring opportunities Hybrid work model with Melbourne CBD office base Stable and collaborative team environment If you would like to know more information, please reach out to Milly Kerei-Keepa at or hit Apply Now #J-18808-Ljbffr
