Digital Solution Architect

We are seeking a Solution Architect to join our team to provide end-to-end architectural leadership across a major digital transformation program involving Digital Asset Management, enterprise search, data migration, integration development, cloud services, and modern web and application platforms. This role defines the technical vision, ensures architectural coherence across workstreams, and supports the program to deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions aligned to government and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Define the overall technical architecture for the program, spanning application, integration, data, cloud, security, and infrastructure layers. Lead the development of architectural artefacts including solution designs, integration patterns, data models, security controls, and deployment architectures. Work closely with delivery teams and SMEs to translate business requirements into technical designs that are feasible, maintainable, and aligned with long-term strategic needs. Provide technical oversight across multiple concurrent workstreams (e.g., DAM implementation, enterprise search, cloud services, UI/UX delivery, integrations, and data migration). Establish and govern architectural standards, ensuring solutions are consistent, scalable, and compliant with security and privacy requirements. Guide decision‑making on technology options, platforms, and design trade‑offs, presenting clear options, implications, and recommendations. Collaborate with cybersecurity specialists to embed secure‑by‑design principles and ensure alignment with ISM, PSPF, and other relevant frameworks. Support DevOps and engineering teams in defining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code patterns, and environment strategies. Contribute to risk identification and mitigation across architecture, data, cloud, and security domains. Provide technical leadership in vendor and product evaluations, ensuring solutions integrate effectively within the broader enterprise ecosystem. Skills & Experience Baseline Security Cleared with ability to gain NV1. Extensive experience as a Solution Architect on complex, multi‑platform digital transformation programs in government or similarly regulated environments. Strong background in cloud architecture (Azure and/or AWS), including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and monitoring. Experience designing and integrating enterprise platforms such as DAM systems, enterprise search technologies, CRM or content platforms, and data repositories. Deep knowledge of integration patterns (APIs, event‑driven, ETL/ELT), and data architecture best practice. Strong understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code, DevOps pipelines, and automated deployment patterns. Familiarity with government security frameworks, including the Information Security Manual (ISM) and associated privacy and data protection obligations. Ability to produce high‑quality architectural documentation and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive stakeholders. Experience guiding multidisciplinary teams including developers, cloud engineers, DevOps specialists, BAs, testers, and cybersecurity SMEs. Relevant certifications beneficial (e.g., AWS/Azure Architect, TOGAF, SABSA, CISSP). What Success Looks Like A clear, cohesive architecture that supports program goals and future scalability. Technical decisions are well‑governed, evidence‑based, and understood across the program. Solutions are secure, maintainable, high‑performing, and aligned to enterprise and government standards. Delivery teams have clarity and confidence in the architecture, accelerating implementation and reducing technical risk. Platforms and integrations are delivered smoothly and cohesively, enabling a seamless transition into BAU.
