What you’ll be doing This position provides peer support to people accessing the Aboriginal Led Safe Haven service as well as providing senior peer leadership to Aboriginal peer workers and peer workers across the Mid North Coast Local Health District Towards Zero Suicides Initiatives. As a Senior Aboriginal Peer Worker you will use lived experience as an Aboriginal person navigating your own journey of suicidal ideation or attempts to support other people using the Safe Haven. The Senior Aboriginal Peer Worker will provide leadership to provide culturally safe support in a warm, welcoming, non-clinical environment, working with other professionals to support and link people who access the service with appropriate services. This service is staffed by peer workers with lived experience of suicide and the service runs Thursday – Sunday including after hours, weekends and public holidays.
