The Australian Government has announced the stabilisation of existing business registers and their transfer from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) back to ASIC, under the RegistryConnect (RC) Program. This program aims to deliver reliable, secure, trusted, and efficient registry services to support the economy for the benefit of all Australians. ASIC's RegistryConnect Program is seeking a highly skilled and accomplished Release Train Engineer to contribute to its flagship technology modernisation and uplift initiative. Sydney or Melbourne locations 24 month fixed term position Salary from $165,011 to $191,949 (depending on experience) + 15.4 % superannuation Applications will close at 11:59pm AEDT, Sunday 7 December 2025 The team The Digital, Data and Technology Portfolio Office delivers a comprehensive range of project and support services to ASIC. We are responsible for driving major technology initiatives designed to transform our operations, with a strong focus on visualisation, mobility and cloud solutions. By prioritising data sharing and advanced analytics our goal is to position ASIC as a best-in-class regulator, underpinning the integrity and efficiency of Australia's financial markets. The role The Release Train Engineer will lead and coordinate the delivery of multiple program initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing the release management process, including planning and prioritising schedules, managing dependencies, risks and facilitating effective communication across teams. Key responsibilities will include tracking progress, resolving issues and working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration, adherence to agile methodologies and the timely delivery of high-quality IT solutions aligned with ASIC's strategic objectives. More Specifically, You Will Drive the delivery of strategic initiatives within the RegistryConnect Agile Release Trains. Plan and facilitate Big Room Planning sessions for the assigned Agile Release Train (ART). Coach and mentor Agile teams, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners in applying agile and lean practices effectively. Identify, manage, and resolve cross-team impediments, while proactively addressing risks and dependencies. Collaborate with ASIC's functional teams to ensure alignment and integration across all delivery streams. Monitor progress against planning objectives and maintain transparency across the Agile Release Train. About You The ideal candidate for this role will be a strategic leader with extensive expertise in agile and lean practices, capable of driving complex program delivery across multiple teams. They will demonstrate strong facilitation and coaching skills to foster effective collaboration among Scrum Masters, Product Owners and stakeholders. With proven experience in managing dependencies, mitigating risks and resolving cross-team impediments ensuring seamless execution within Agile Release Trains. Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills are essential, combined with a results-driven mindset focused on delivering high-quality IT solutions. In Addition, You Will Have Extensive previous demonstrated experience in program and project management, ideally within large, business-critical systems and Australian Government initiatives. Substantial proven experience in large scale Agile delivery. Demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale business transformation programs. Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to provide strategic technology advice aligned with organisational objectives.
